John is an experienced trial attorney (retired) and has served as an arbitrator and mediator by private party engagement and on appointment from the Riverside Superior Court.  He has been retained as an expert witness to testify a number of times regarding real estate broker/agent fiduciary duty issues.  John represents a number of Associations of REALTORS® with membership exceeding 30,000 real estate professionals.  He administers several REALTOR® professional standards programs, is an instructor for Professional Realty Institute (GRI), and has taught a real estate class for the California State University. He writes several Association newsletters, has presented several talks at the California Association of REALTORS® Convention and Legal Affairs Forum, and is a frequent guest speaker and teacher at seminars and luncheons on issues of interest to real estate professionals.

John was admitted to the California Bar in 1977 after receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Irvine in 1974, and his Juris Doctor Degree from Western State University in 1977, where he served as an editorial board member for law review, moot court champion, and graduated with honors.

In addition to his law practice and teaching duties, John has served as a City Council member, Mayor for the City of Canyon Lake, a member of the Executive Board for the Western Riverside Council of Governments, including a year as its Chair, and as a member of the Board of Trustees for the San Jacinto Junior College Foundation.  John is currently serving as a member of the Advisory Committee for the Animal Friends of the Valley, as a member of the Men’s Ministries Board and Chair of the Master Planning Committee for the Canyon Lake Community Church, and as a member of the Linfield Christian School’s Board of Trustees where he serves as the Chair of the Education Committee, Secretary and Treasurer.
